Natural Killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that play a critical role in the innate immune system. NK cells are involved in a number of biologic processes such as viral infections, cancer, bone marrow transplantation, autoimmunity and adaptive immunity. Their complex role within immune regulation is becoming more and more a field of interest. Next to the research about their function in the immune system, NK cells are used in cancer therapy as well as in vitro tools to evaluate, for example the performance of therapeutic antibodies using the antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) activity assays.

To standardise these assays, it is highly desirable to have large batches of cells from the same donor for effective downstream experiments.

Medicyte's cryopreserved human NK cells are in 2 mL cryo-vials containing 5x10⁶ viable NK cells after thawing. They are isolated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells using negative immunomagnetic selection.

• Purity >90%
• CD3^- CD56⁺ CD16⁺

• Production of large batches of vericyte^® NK cells
• Natural killing assays
• Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) activity
• Cytokine release assays

For each product a protocol for use and a certificate of analysis will be delivered. All offered upcyte^® cells can be used in BSL1 laboratory or higher and are tested for CMV, HIV, Hepatitis B and C and negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, fungi.

Nevertheless, the cells - like all products of human origin - should be handled as potentially infectious. No test procedure can completely guarantee the absence of infectious agents.
